Borongan City's DFSSG extends educational aid to SPES in ChristmaSAYA Gift-giving

BORONGAN CITY, Philippines – The Division Federated Supreme Student Government (DFSSG) catered for the aid in learning supplies to San Pablo Elementary School in Maypangdan during their ChristmaSAYA Gift-giving Outreach Activity 2022 on December 22, fulfilling the theme—To Give SAYA to Young Children.

Supported by monetary donations, the DFSSG officers—who are from secondary schools: Lalawigan National High School (LNHS), Eastern Samar National Comprehensive High School (ESNCHS), Sta. Fe National High School (SFHS), Supt. Fidel E. Anacta Sr. Memorial High School (SFEAMHS), Maypangdan National High School (MNHS), Calingatngan National High School (CNHS), and Benowangan National High School (BNHS)—with the accompaniment of Jake Patangan; DFSSG adviser, and Franklin Pabello; Youth Formation Division (YFD) Coordinator, firsthand reached out to the school to meet and personally give the sets of school supplies to the total 43 pupils of SPES.

Games and activities were likewise facilitated to engage the pupils' participation, and thereafter, prizes and snacks were provided to them.

Remarked by Ma. Ellaiza Tiu; DFSSG President and LNHS SSG President, the said activity heeded the school's call for help in sustaining the pupils' essential needs, as the primary charity conduct of the organization is also the first to reach SPES, which is in a remote area after a twenty-minute boat ride from the Poblacion proper.

Moreover, the DFSSG is in continual hopes for indulgence in care assistance as they are seeking the annual conduct of the ChristmaSAYA Gift-giving Outreach Activity in the next years. Echoing this sentiment, Gerlyn Rose Duran, DFSSG Vice-President and ESNCHS SSG President, advocates for the organization's furtherance in charity support by also reaching out to other schools for a broader scope of learner-recipients.

The establishment of partnerships in holding more outreach programs for SPES that are outside the DFSSG remains to be open and may be settled with the school's Teacher-in-Charge; Arianne Badocdoc.
