BORONGAN CITY, Eastern Samar -- Eastern Samar Provincial Hospital (ESPH) commences vaccination drive for the rest of the pediatric population (children ages 12-17 years old) with and without co-morbidities, starting November 22, 2021.

Minors, with their respective guardians, fill up the hallways of ESPH as Borongan City joins the pediatric vaccination rollout, with a total of 535 children having been given Pfizer vaccine shots on the first vaccination day.

After 19 days, vaccination for the second dose took place, starting December 12.

In light of this, Borongan City reaches a 78.00% coverage rate of vaccinated individuals out of its total population.

Provincial Health Office (PHO) Eastern Samar documented 41,441 vaccinees out of the 75,837 citizens of Borongan City. Only 11,675 are left unvaccinated as of December 13, 2021.

Now that the resumption of face-to-face classes is upon us, the head doctor of ESPH, Dra. Jessica Sabalberino encourages the public to get vaccinated.

“Please, pag-burubliga ta ini. This is our social responsibility. Siring ko pa, diri la ini obligasyon hiton mga health care workers, kundi obligasyon naton ini ngatanan," said Sabalberino in an interview with Penelope Pomida, Dyes Borongan (Radyo Pilipinas Borongan).
